Are you calling my MacBook’s inbuilt graphics inadequate?

All computers are always inadequate.

If you can get a GPU.

We would, if we lived in the good timeline. But this is the dark timeline where cryptominers will drive the prices of GPUs completely out of reach for anyone not already loaded. After bitcoin breaks the $1m/coin mark, a GTX titan equivalent will outprice a lamborghini, the rest of us will be stuck on integrated graphics, and PC gaming on a discreet GPU will be a thing of the distant past.

As a graphics professional this really makes me hate cryptocurrency/miners.

Indeed. I just bought a prebuilt dell because of the graphics card it came with. At current prices, I basically paid for a GPU and ram and they threw in the ryzen 7 and the rest of the machine for free.
